"Little Daughter"
Hair colored honey and eyes of brown,
Ever wonder why I never frown?
It is your sweet and charming way,
And a smile to challenge the brightest day.
Perhaps it's your instant mischievous grin,
An attempt to escape the trouble your in;
Or your openly bright and inquisitive mind,
Always questioning for answers to find.
It is your expression while you peacefully sleep,
While around you the angels-their vigils they keep.
And you change from baby into girl,
As you revel in each new achievement unfurled.
It's your wide-eyed wonderment at candlelight,
And heartbreaking tears tempered by squeals of delight.
All pale by comparison to a blessing so new,
Your soft voice whispering . . .
"Daddy I Love You"!
